This Ones for the Tiger Haters..

Yes the media gives tiger woods much much more airtime than any other player period. And they would be stupid not to do this. Tigers got at least 3 times more pga wins and 3 times more majors than anybody else on tour. Hes got probably ten times more records; and hes younger than any of the contenders. Hes on the verge of breaking the greatest records in golf (majors and pga tournaments won). And lets not even talk about what he has done for the game (popularity interest endorsements tournament purse). Were watching history. If youre a real fan you would understand this and wouldnt be complaining.

Golf Research

Hi my name is fran longstaff and I am phd student at northumbria university. I am currently doing a study that is examiniing how golfers use imagery and self talk immediately prior to the execution of golf strokes and wheh walking between golf strokes in stressful situations during competitive rounds of golf. In order to answer the research question I have designed a short survey and am looking for male uk based golfers who are 18 and above who compete regularly and have a handicap in the 0-20 range to complete the survey. Your help would be much appreciated. I have attached the link to the online survey below. Thanks Https://

My Favorite 10 Players on Tour

I assume most of us have favorites on tour that we pull for when theyre on the leaderboard of a tournament. I know some say they dont…..they just enjoy watching good golf played and they have no horse theyre backing. But I thought it might be interesting if a lot of us regulars would name our current favorite golfers on tour. And if you like you can also name your all-time favorites too. This of course has nothing to do with anybodys record so there are no correct answers that can be debated here. You like who you like. My current 10 favorites: 1) tiger woods 2) angel cabrera 3) camilo villegas 4) ryo ishikawa 5) vijay singh 6) phil mickelson 7) ernie els 8) rory mcilroy 9) y.e. Yang 10) anthony kim My all-time favorites: 1) tiger woods 2) seve ballesteros 3) lee trevino 4) sam snead 5) walter hagen I still think personalities are important in any sport in keeping it interesting. By the way happy 80th birthday arnie.

Kenny Perry Splits With Longtime Caddy

Associated press – in a peculiar move kenny perry parted ways last week with longtime caddie fred sanders with whom he has won most of his tournaments. Sanders said perry has decided to use his son justin the rest of the year ̵; the final three fedex cup playoff events and even the presidents cup. His son played college golf at western kentucky and caddied for his father at the british open where perry tied for 52nd without breaking par in any round at turnberry. Sanders said he learned of the change through perrys agent even though they worked all week at the barclays. Asked about using his son perry replied tersely to two reporters guys I really dont want to talk about that. Perry who turned 49 last month has won twice this year lost in a playoff at the masters and is no. 5 in the world ranking. He has 14 career victories and has said one of his ambitious goals is to get to 20.

Mutiny Brewing on the Lpga Tour

Last Thursday a dozen or so top players convened for dinner and it was lpga commissioner carolyn bivens who got roasted as the players aired their various grievances about her leadership. If she cant win back her most important constituents bivenss days as commish could be numbered. The dinner took place in sylvania ohio site of the jamie farr owens corning classic a day after word spread that the kapalua classic scheduled for Oct. 10-15 had been canceled because the title sponsor pulled out and that the lpga May have as few as 10 u.s.-based events in 2010. Sources close to the lpga who were not at the dinner indicated that the conversation resulted in a letter to lpga president michelle ellis expressing a loss of faith in bivenss leadership and policies. i heard something along those lines about a meeting ellis told si but I havent received any such letter. If the [LPGA] Board [of directors] Received such a letter they would certainly discuss it but I cant say anything about it because I havent seen any letter. Player director juli inkster who was at the dinner also said that as far as she knew no letter had come out of the meeting. Inkster told si that the dinner was kind of a personal talk about where we need to go and what we can do. As far as who was there and who said what I cant get into that. Whatever the details its clear that as sponsorship dollars dry up and tournaments keep disappearing the stress level is rising among players if not among the lpga board. Ellis said that the board maintains its support of bivens and that it has not yet considered the state of the 2010 schedule. right now she said were just focused on getting through 09 and working on renewals.
